InspiraFarms listed among the best of the B Corps 2017

On September 12 InspiraFarms was recognised as one of the world’s top companies for driving positive customer impact. Listed among the Best for Customers by non-profit B Lab, the award honours the top 10 per cent of the world’s certified B Corps, or Benefit Corporations.

Today there are more than 2,100 Certified B Corps across more than 130 business sectors and 50 countries, unified by one common goal: to redefine success in business.

The award marks a huge achievement for InspiraFarms. Not only does it mark our second certification as a B Corp, it specifically acknowledges the impact of our work and technology on our customers, their employees, communities and the environment.

“Companies like InspiraFarms are proving that business can be a force for good for all stakeholders,” says Jay Coen Gilbert, co-founder of B Lab. “We’re proud to share their achievement in a meaningful way. Best for the World is the only list of businesses making the greatest positive impact that uses comprehensive, comparable, third-party-validated data about a company’s social and environmental performance.”

Joining B Lab’s Best for Customers list of honourees has reinvigorated our mission and inspired us to seek even more ways to exceed customer expectations.

“While we’ve received this award because of our work with underserved communities, it would not have been possible without the involvement of our customers. Their support in helping us develop, design and refine our technology has been essential to our success,” says Tim Chambers, InspiraFarms co-founder and Managing Director.

“We passionately believe that improving the food-safe cold-chain processing capabilities of small-scale farming operations can not only help feed a growing global population, but help our customers get a foothold in the global supply chain, diversify their businesses and create jobs,” says Dr Michele Bruni, InspiraFarms co-founder and Technical Director.

We’re incredibly proud to join the ranks of honorees featured on B the Change. This year 846 Certified B Corporations were named Best for the World, including Patagonia, Seventh Generation, National Co+op Grocers, and the Business Development Bank of Canada.
