InspiraFarms introduces maintenance services for on-farm cooling machinery

Since 2012, our InspiraFarms team has been a leading provider of advanced and sustainable cold chain solutions, for both established and underserved agribusinesses and value-chains in emerging economies. We have so far deployed 100 cold chain projects for fresh produce in 12 countries such as Kenya, Ethiopia, Benin, Rwanda, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Guatemala, and Mexico. While we provide a 1-year warranty for all cooling equipment and source the components from some of the highest-rated suppliers in the world, we recognize the need and value for the maintenance and service of such high-value assets. With this in mind, we are happy to officially introduce our aftersales services to you, our customers.

Why we introduced this:

We are now offering aftersales support available to all our clients across Eastern, Western and Southern Africa. We have identified a pool of users in Kenya with cooling equipment that was not necessarily sourced from InspiraFarms, and will provide these users with maintenance services for all cooling products from different suppliers. Our team provides support for: preventative maintenance, onsite assessment, repairs, and spare parts replacement. Like any other machine, all our products require regular maintenance to optimize performance, minimize downtime, and reduce cooling system breakdowns and consequent damages. These are key components for an excellent customer experience, and for the optimal functionality of cooling systems without the threat of frequent breakdowns.

1. Preventative maintenance

Whether you have purchased a high-efficiency system to increase your bottom line from us or have cooling equipment supplied by other companies (applies to Kenya only), we can provide customers with our recommended maintenance services. It is fundamental to have regular maintenance of cooling machines to manage risks, increase shelf-life, minimize losses and increase your revenues. Our maintenance schedules provide a clear outline of the maintenance activity, the frequency, and the itemized cost to acquire this service. For the fresh fruit and vegetable industry, we have scheduled the servicing activities around the seasonality of customers’ top crops. This covers the best servicing practices before, during, and after your season, minimizing supply inadequacy, and building the confidence of your off-takers on the quality of your product.

2. On-demand site assessments

Our cooling experts can inspect your cooling equipment to assess any technical problems and build the most suitable service plan. Thanks to the integration of our machines with remote monitoring, you can purchase data packages based on our Inspira CoolCloud, a digital solution designed for our users to understand the daily performance of their machines. In case of need for intervention, our technicians have the support of a remote engineering team to speed up the diagnostics process. Based on the assessment we will provide accurate recommendations on the best plan or interventions for you. Data integration options are also available as an add-on to cooling machines purchased from other companies providing cooling solutions.

3. On-demand repairs

While we guarantee that we supply quality and high longevity on the products we supply, we are aware that damages occur due to many different reasons, including grid tension and power frequency issues, mishandling, inconsistent servicing, unintended damages, wear and tear, among others. We will visit your site, assess the scale of damage caused, prepare a report on the findings of the damaged parts, including a quotation on any components that may need replacement, and bring them back to their proper working conditions.

4. Provision of spare parts

We have designed our cooling solutions to accommodate the best user experience, and this includes the replaceability of major components required by clients as part of preventative maintenance or repairs. As a customer, you can purchase specific spare parts at the time of purchasing your cooling machine. Alternatively, the InspiraFarms team will procure them for you and have them ready for maintenance or break-down interventions.
