This is the optimal solution for bulky crops and long-term storage needs for root vegetables such as potatoes and onions or for fruits that can be stored for many months such as apples and oranges.
Long-term storage is obtained by adjusting temperature, humidity, airflow, and the balance of some key gases in the internal room atmosphere. Adjusting CO2, nitrogen, and oxygen levels, while preventing ethylene to slow down or block the ripening, and aging processes or blocking the sprouting of roots.
For many products this is an essential strategy to replace imports and buffer price volatility risk, capturing more value out of the harvest or being able to feed food processing factories, such as chips production plants.
InspiraFarms Cooling offers a range of solutions tailored for each variety and market, for both fresh and processing products.
Structure
- This range aims at serving larger operations and starts at 500+ m² modules to 2,000+m², 5 meters usable height, and 7 meters total height.
- The structures are modular in 6 x 18 or 6 x 24 meters modules built with H-shaped structural steel and 18 or 24 meters span.
- Walls and ceilings are made of high-density closed cells PUR sandwich panels.
Cooling equipment
- Special ventilation systems, according to the product storage type.
- Air circulation with high-flow axial fans.
- Automatic air refreshment systems for tropical environments, replacing the more traditional hatches.
- Special humidification system for long-term storage.

Our long-term storage can be powered by three-phase electric power. Single-phase is possible for small dimensions of up to 7 kW of cooling capacity. The power can be sourced through solar but as hybrid, having the grid or a generator as backup.

To have installed an on-site InspiraFarm long-term storage you will need the same requirements needed to install a cold room. See specifics detailed in the cold room FAQs.
It is possible. The units are not mobile but can be disassembled and reassembled having the civil works ready in the new site. However, make sure to get the experts to do it. Trying to move the unit yourself would usually invalidate any warranty.
