InspiraFarms welcomes in new CFO

InspiraFarms welcomes Oliver Cooper as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will be taking over from Mina Stiernblad.

Oliver brings to InspiraFarms extensive experience from East Africa and Europe where he spent his career in progressively senior financial management positions in various organisations.

As the Regional Finance Manager at Merlin, an international health Non-profit Organization, Oliver climbed up the ladder and was later appointed as Finance Director of Kenya & Somalia in 2012. In 2014, he changed his course and took on the role as CFO at AFEX Group, a group of 4 companies operating in East Africa in remote camp construction, catering and camp management with a workforce of around 200 staff and annual revenues of $12m.

More recently, Oliver started a fast-growing accounting firm, Nimble, for small UK companies, operating out of Johannesburg, South Africa and is qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte in London. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of Nottingham and is a Chartered Accountant (FCA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW).

“InspiraFarms is going from strength to strength, so it’s a really interesting time to be joining the team. It was clear very early on in my discussions with the team that InspiraFarms has a very innovative product which is providing a huge impact for farms across Africa in reducing post-harvest losses in an energy efficient way. I believe that the finance products that we can offer our clients is such an important part of InspiraFarms’ future and am looking forward to being a part of that.”

As CFO, Oliver will continue to upscale the finance department by planning, implementing, managing and running all our finance activities and giving the best financial solutions to our clients, investing in cold chain solutions.

Mina will proceed to take on a new venture and will remain a friend of InspiraFarms.

“I am incredibly grateful for my time at InpiraFarms. To contribute to solving the cold chain issue for fresh produce across Africa has been rewarding and as well challenging. I have learned so much and I am looking forward to seeing InspiraFarms further grow and succeed to reduce post-harvest losses and make agriculture more sustainable. I would like to give a big thanks to the InspiraFarms team for all the support and knowledge I have been able to achieve over the years.”
