Why every fresh produce trader should pay attention to FRUIT LOGISTICA

Every year, over 3,239 exhibitors and 78,000 trade visitors and global players from small and medium-sized companies, and organisations from all over the world, gather in Berlin for FRUIT LOGISTICA, the largest international fresh produce trade fair. The fair presents an international platform for the fruit and vegetable sector, offering many opportunities for increasing brand awareness, scouting and networking with prospective clients and making sales while discovering new products and technologies.

Over the years, it has become an important reference in the sector for anyone that wants to explore the international trade of fruit and vegetables. So, even for those not attending physically, the fair offers multiple opportunities for sourcing information about markets, import and export players, and new trends in technology. Their online platform offers many live transmissions, online recorded sessions, downloadable reports, a general directory with contact information, and much more.

As we recognise the value of this trade show for most of our community of clients and partners, we have put together a guide on how you can optimise the fair, both onsite and offsite, with tips for making the most of FRUIT LOGISTICA.

1. Consult the online exhibitor directory and build your outreach plan.

FRUIT LOGISTICA’S online networking platform provides a set of extensive networking functions for both visitors and exhibitors. The networking profiles of the company employees are listed as contact persons in the company profile. Therefore, it is a great tool and search engine to find a list of potential clients and service providers. On the platform, you can select and save your preferred exhibitors by region, country, product group or industry. Additionally, you can message and request meetings with them.

2. Livestream events and panel discussions.

As part of the fair, diverse events related to the fresh produce industry will take place on-site and will be streamed online. These events have been categorized by sector, including the Fresh Produce Forum, the Tech Stage, the Future Lab, Logistics Hub and much more. Critically, the sessions include compact and high-quality expert panels on current topics of the fresh fruit industry, as well as conversations around innovative solutions in technology and machinery. To access more information on the programmes and schedules of these events and presentations, log onto the FRUIT LOGISTICA Online platform. At InspiraFarms Cooling, some of the events relevant to us include:

a) Extending the shelf life of food

b) EverFRESH: Solution to Extend Postharvest Transit Life of Perishables

c) Successful with modern cooling logistics

d) A more joined-up effort to eliminate food waste

3. Follow the FRUIT LOGISTICA hashtag on social media (#FRUITLOGISTICA).

Many exhibitors and visitors at the fair will use the hashtag and if you want to discover new potential service providers and visitors, then following that event through hashtags would be your best chance to view new and existing trade and sector agencies, and potential referrals. Hashtags would be your best chance to view posts from the event.

4. Annual trend report

Every year, FRUIT LOGISTICA releases an annual Trend Report that explores what the future could hold for fruit retailers worldwide. The publication examines the ten most important trends that will shape the industry this year and takes an in-depth look at the potential impact that new requirements will have on trade and economies. Further, it assesses the impact of new and groundbreaking technological advances.
